Better Haringey Trail

Circular via Bruce Castle, Wood Green, Highgate, Finsbury Park and Tottenham Hale 19km/12 miles

A walk connecting many sites of environmental and historical importance in the borough of Haringey. It was launched by Haringey council in 2005 on the suggestion of a local resident as part of the Better Haringey programme to improve quality of life. It uses a combination of quiet streets improved through cleaning, tree planting and other measures, and off-road routes through parks and open spaces.

Two alternative routes give a large circuit with variations, divided by a north-south route from Wood Green to Manor House, and with plenty of local transport there are ample opportunities for shorter walks. The route uses and links sections of the Capital Ring, Lea Valley Path, New River Path and Parkland Walk.

disability logoMuch of the route is along surfaced paths and pavements, and accessible. See the mobility guide listed below for full details, also downloadable as a PDF.
