As an Access officer you will have a key role in Ramblers work to promote and protect open access to the countryside as a way of enabling all people to come to a greater knowledge, love and appreciation of the countryside. Support and Resources
We provide a number of resources for those undertaking the role of Area or Group Access Officer as well as those who undertake Practical Path Work. Central Office can also provide a large amount of support for all these areas of work. To take advantage of this please gets in touch with the Walking Environment Team.

Local Access Forum Guidance Notes- Notes for those Ramblers volunteers who sit on Local Access Forums
Factsheet Library - These factsheets are aimed at all access volunteers. They give support in a number of different areas including guidance on how the law affects path work, responding to consultation and encouraging volunteering. To get a full list of factsheets go to the factsheet library.
The BTCV Guide, 'Footpaths - a practical handbook,'- This is a free resource aimed at those who undertake or coordinate practical path work at Group or Area level.
Insurance Information - Ramblers provide insurance for those undertaking practical path works. This information is aimed at those who undertake practical path work.
Knowledge Portal - A one stop shop for all queries about rights of way and access, for volunteers undertaking a rights of way role.
