Guidance on software purchase1

1. Purpose of guidance, audience and general notes

To advise Ramblers volunteers on discounts for software purchases via Charity licensing schemes. Audience for report is volunteers.

2. Guidance on software purchase

Software from a variety of suppliers e.g. Microsoft, Adobe etc. may be purchased at charity/education rates from our main software vendor Pugh Computers Ltd. See http://www.pugh.co.uk/

All purchases made under the charity/education pricing schemes must be for Ramblers use and not personal use.

Please note that the contract is between the area or group and the supplier. You should advise the supplier that invoices are to be addressed to the area or group c/o you. Central Office will not pay for any goods ordered at area or group level.

The following is an example of the savings available by purchasing directly from Pugh –

For Microsoft Office Professional 2007 the costs would be

£21 for an installation CD and £47.00+vat per license.

The compares with a typical list price of approx £300+

To obtain this discount any orders should be sent directly to Pugh Computers using your area or group Ramblers’ Association headed paper. The name and position within the RA of the purchaser should also be stated.

If you would like more information or to request a catalogue please contact barry@pugh.co.uk
