September Renewal Letter Mailing Update

You may have been contacted by members who have noticed errors on the renewal notices that we sent out for September Renewals, which were the result of human error when arranging the printing of this letter. The expiry date on the membership card we enclosed stated August 2010 when it should have read September 2010.

An additional error on the letter stated that if paying by Direct Debit, the payment would be claimed on 26th August. This should have said 30th September. Please note that no money was taken out of members’ accounts in August. All direct debit payments will be taken on the 30th September.

In the unlikely event that the members may have been reconsidering their membership, our letter, which said that the payment had already been taken, may have been given the impression that it was too late to cancel their membership.

We will be sending apology letters to all those members affected, enclosing a new membership card. Notwithstanding our best efforts, this letter will arrive after the September claim date, again denying the small number of members who may have wished to cancel their membership an opportunity to do so.

We are committed to providing the highest levels of service and we regret that we were unable to do so on this occasion. If a member was wishing to cancel their membership and feel that this error denied them this opportunity, please advise them to contact Membership Services to be issued a full refund.

Of course, for the vast majority of members, there is no need to do anything other than retain their new card and continue to enjoy their membership to the Ramblers.

Once again, please except my sincere apologies for the trouble this error may have caused you.
