Flexigroup briefing session

Relevant to: All volunteers and members Published 12 September 2011 For information: Flexigroup briefing session – 11 October 2012

As part of our work to make it easier to provide a varied walks programme and to attract more members, a new model of Ramblers group called a flexigroup has been developed and piloted across Great Britain.

Flexigroups are specialist groups which mean they are an ideal for setting up a family group, short walks group, dog walking group or any other type of walk that there is a need for locally. They can also be used to run groups with a different focus to walking such as a practical path work or a route development group.

As part of the flexigroup pilot we are holding a briefing session to explain what flexigroups are and how they work, followed by the opportunity for questions and discussion. This session will be delivered as a telephone conference and will also have an online presentation which participants can view at the same time if they have access to a computer and broadband.

This format will allow participants to ask questions and discuss any points which arise with staff and other Ramblers members from a wide range of Areas, which should lead to an interesting and informative discussion.

The first briefing session is scheduled for 11 October 2011 at 7.15pm. To ensure that all involved are able to fully engage with the discussion we will need to limit the number of participants, and if there is a high demand for places we will arrange further sessions as required.

If you would like to take part, or for more information, please contact the Group Walks Development Officer, Gemma Petty either by email gemma.petty@ramblers.org.uk or by telephone 020 7339 8594.
