Sam joined the charity in January and her role is to help increase Ramblers membership levels across the Northern Home Counties (covering Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and North / West Middlesex).
She has extensive journalistic and marketing experience, which will be invaluable to help the areas and groups in this part of Britain with their various membership and publicity activities.
Sam has started work already on forging new partnerships and securing a Ramblers presence at a number of local events.
As you will all be aware, membership levels at the Ramblers have been declining over the last few years and it is critically important for the charity to turn this trend around in 2012.
We very much anticipate that working more closely together and developing new initiatives, both at a central and local level, will help slow and then reverse this trend; Sam will be key to help us all take this work forward.
Sam will report directly to Robbie McKinnon, our Head of Marketing.
I know Sam will be making contact personally with you in the near future and is keen to hear about any issues affecting your groups’ membership and publicity work and ways in which she can help you recruit more members and ‘spread the word’ about the Ramblers.
Please join us in welcoming Sam to the charity; I am sure you will support her in the coming months and she will do all she can to help you in your membership activity development.
Sam is home-based in Hertfordshire and can be contacted on 07799 134 710.
