As we head towards summer many Ramblers volunteers will be making plans for the depths of winter.
The Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks 2011/12 will run from Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December 2011, to the day after New Year's Day, Monday 2 January 2012.
The Festival is one of the most important recruitment activities for the Ramblers, with many hundreds of new members joining each year.
Every Group will receive a hard copy pack to help them promote and participate in the event, and resources will be made available electronically on a new section of the website.
Dates for other events and festivals through to Get Walking Day 2012 will be published soon, including a one-off festival to celebrate the Wales coastal path, which the Welsh Assembly Government currently plans to launch on 5 May 2012. We’d like to invite Groups across Great Britain to head to the seaside for a coastal walk on the day of the launch.
