Every year Ramblers volunteers give thousands of hours to the organisation using a myriad of different skills. This ranges from leading walks to clearing footpaths and from campaigning to raising the organisation's profile in the local media.
In recognition of this Ramblers produce a number of certificates to recognise our volunteers.
The Awards
The Awards have been created to allow Areas and Groups to recognise the time and work that volunteers give to the Ramblers every year. They are for any volunteer regardless of the role they undertake and look to recognise the work of all volunteers.
The Good and Long certificates are awarded by the Group or Area. They will be produced by Central Office on request and signed by The Ramblers Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
You can download all the information and forms to nominate somebody below.
| Long Service Certificates These are awarded by the Area or Group to a volunteer who has volunteered over a long period of time. They are normally given after 10, 20 or 50 years. |

| Good Service Certificates These are awarded by an Area or Group to recognise the work done by a volunteer. |

| Requesting Certificates Good and Long service certificate requests must be made by using the certificate request form. This is to ensure we have the correct details for the certificate as well as having a central point of contact to send the certificate to. You can either send the certificate request form via e-mail to Ed.wilson@ramblers.org.uk or by post to Ed Wilson, Volunteer Support and Development Officer, The Ramblers, 2nd Floor Camelford House, 87-90 Albert Embankment London SE1 7TW, UK. Good and Long service certificates are only sent out 4 times a year. This is due to the large number of requests that we receive and the time it takes to produce, sign and send the certificates. The table below outlines when the deadline occurs for each certificate: - If you wish to Award the certificate between January, February, March you need to get the certificate request form in by the 1st December
- If you wish to award the certificate between April, May and June you need to get the certificate request form in by 1st March
- If you wish to award the certificate between July, August and September you need to get the certificate request form in by 1st June
- If you wish to award the certificate between October, November and December you need to get the certificate request form in by 1st September
The next cut of date for certificates is the 1st March 2012.
