Ramblers takes over central Manchester library

Congratulations to the Manchester and Salford Ramblers, and the Ramblers' Get Walking, Keep Walking team, for the joint month-long display at Manchester Central library to celebrate our 75 years.

In one of our 'heartland cities' where many Ramblers pioneers lived and campaigned, volunteers have organised a huge display in the iconic circular central library. It includes:

• 5 display cabinets full of Ramblers material (with one specifically about our Get Walking, Keep Walking initiative)
• 5 massive display boards
• a huge hand-made banner hanging from the pillars, with our slogan, 'Ramblers - at the heart of walking'.

Tom Franklin, Chief Executive, commented, "It is great to see the Ramblers Get Walking, Keep Walking team and the local group in Manchester and Salford working well together and supporting each other. The massive display at the library will give the Ramblers equally massive publicity. It might be something that other groups may want to do."
