The Ramblers is a charity, defending the rights and promoting the interests of walkers. We aim to protect and enhance the rights of way network; secure the right of responsible access over open countryside; protect the environment; and promote walking as a socially inclusive, healthy and sustainable activity.

Campaigns Officer
Vauxhall, London
Full-time 35 hours per week
£26.000 - £27,000 pa

If you have experience of successful campaigning or advocacy, either paid or voluntary, and have worked with volunteers, the Ramblers would like to hear from you. We are seeking a Campaigns Officer to join our Walking Environment Team – devising and delivering a range of campaigning activities related to public rights of way, open access, countryside protection, and urban public space. Influencing skills are required, as is creativity and an ability to communicate clear campaigning messages.

Membership Processing Assistant
London, Vauxhall SE1
£19,500 - £21,500 per annum – permanent position
Closing date: 4 February 2010
Interviews held on 9 February 2010

The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in:

  • A busy data processing environment, ideally within a customer services department with experience of capturing customer and financial transaction information.
  • High volumes of key stroke per minute with a high level of accuracy at all times, with the ability to pay attention to detail for long periods of time.
  • Investigating complex payment/subscription enquires with the ability to resolve issues and communicate possible causes to a wider audience.
  • Numeracy skills and general office procedures with a methodical and organised approach to mange own work loads.

Get People Walking xx xx

Project Co-ordinator
Based in South London
£28,244 pa (contract to December 2011)
Closing date: 15 February 2010
Interviews held on 24 February 2010

Join us at Get Walking Keep Walking. This exciting and unique project is funded by the Big Lottery and works across England to get inactive people walking regularly for exercise, travel and pleasure. We do this through short walking programmes, events, and publicity in local communities. This post is for one of our five local teams.

The Project Co-ordinator will manage our Get Walking programme in the South London area, including delivery of activities. Skills and experience in service management and community based work are essential.

The project and post will be based in South London (Brixton Office)
