The Ramblers is a charity, defending the rights and promoting the interests of walkers. We aim to protect and enhance the rights of way network; secure the right of responsible access over open countryside; protect the environment; and promote walking as a socially inclusive, healthy and sustainable activity.

Outreach Officer
Based in East London
£26,148 p/a (contract to December 2011)

The Get Walking Keep Walking project works to inspire more people from all sectors of society to walk for health in their local communities. We build partnerships with health, council, and other organisations to attract inactive people to walk more and to make walking accessible to all.

The Outreach Officer will deliver walking activities, recruit and manage volunteers who help to deliver Get Walking, Keep Walking, promote this project and build strong community relations. Skills and experience with volunteers and community-based work is essential, as are strong interpersonal skills.

The project and post will be based in East London

(offices in Tower Hamlets).
