1. Affiliation to the Ramblers' Association: What does it mean?
By choosing to affiliate to your local RA Area, you will be entitling your club or society to a range of useful benefits, as well as supporting our work on behalf of all walkers in Britain. For more than 70 years the Ramblers have been protecting path networks, preserving the beauty of the countryside for walkers and increasing walking opportunities in town and country alike.
2. What are the benefits of affiliation?
- The opportunity to purchase Perkins Slade civil liability insurance at specially negotiated price, available only to affiliates of the RA.
- 20% discount on RA membership for your members (only valid for first year of membership. Existing RA members not eligible.)
- A subscription to the quarterly RA magazine walk (rrp £3.50 per issue).
- A copy of the RA Yearbook (rrp £5.99) containing useful walking information and a comprehensive guide to accommodation for individuals and groups.
- Opportunities to help shape local RA policy.
- An invitation to your members to participate in RA walking festivals
3. What can you do for us?
By affiliating to the RA you are agreeing to support our charitable aims. This means, wherever appropriate, you and your members should spread the word to other walkers, family and friends about the valuable work the Ramblers' Association undertakes.
As walkers themselves, your members will benefit from our footpath and access campaigns, so very occasionally we may ask your group to help us by writing to your local council or distributing information about the RA. All members of affiliated groups receive 20% discount on their first year of RA membership (existing RA members not eligible).
4. How much will it cost?
Our affiliation rate is £36 per year. Affiliation is valid for one year from the date of joining.
