Benefits of membership

Whether you like walking with others or prefer your own company – Ramblers membership has something for you. It also helps with our important work to protect and expand the places we walk and encourage more people to start walking.

Walking with others

Group walking in woodlandRamblers volunteers organise hundreds of group led walks every week. Whether you’re after a short stroll on a summer’s evening, a half-day walk or a challenging day’s hike there’ll be a walk that’s right for you and you can pick and mix as you wish!

When you become a member you can choose which of our local groups to join. They’ll keep you up to date with their activities and send you details of their walks programme.

But the really great thing is you’ll be made welcome on our walks anywhere in Britain - all 45,000 of them every year. You can search for walks using our Group Walks Finder.

There’s no better way to enjoy the company of like-minded people than on a Ramblers walk. Walks are sociable, fun and a great way to explore near you and further afield.

Walking independently

Independent walkerIf you’re looking for inspiration to plan a walk with friends, family or on your own, then look no further than Ramblers Routes - our ever expanding library of high-quality walking routes.

Each route comes complete with a map, photos, detailed directions and information about points of interest along the way and how to get to the start. Members get full access to the library and can print off routecards or download GPS data.

Expertly developed and checked by volunteers with a passion for walking and sharing great routes, you can be sure of a fantastic walk when following a Ramblers Route. Many take you to great viewpoints or have hidden surprises along the way.

You can search for routes online using a wide variety of categories including location, length and difficulty. Once you’ve found a route you like you can add it to your list of favourites.
