Ramblers Scotland campaigns for more investment in walking and cycling measures to encourage more active travel. Giving people safe, pleasant routes to walk or cycle to work, school or the shops would increase levels of physical activity in our daily lives, therefore helping to address many diseases caused by inactivity and obesity. Our environment would also benefit.
We support the Association of Directors of Public Health who have called for 10% of all transport budgets to be spent on active travel - yet Scotland still spends less than 1% of its transport on walking and cycling. We are part of the Active Travel Alliance, along with Sustrans Scotland, Paths for All, Living Streets, CTC, Cycling Scotland and Transform Scotland.
By making a donation you can help us continue to campaign on behalf of walkers.
