The planning process is an integral part of most of the campaigning work done by the Ramblers' Association. Whether this is campaigning for a new National Park or trying to get better quarrying procedures in place, the planning system is usually a good place to start. The underlying principle of the planning system is that if a proposal involves development, it will require planning permission.

Government policy intended to guide local planning authorities is outlined in a series of Planning Policy Statements (PPS, replacing the old Planning Policy Guidance documents).

We are working with others to demand Planning For Climate Change.
