Sunday, 24 September 2017 (Group: Reigate)
Start time 9:30
11.5 miles / 18.5 km
(Estimated finish time: 16:30)
Start 09.30 am in Finche Field car park, Church Hill, West Hoathly. A lovely, varied walk with many beautiful views taking in a short stretch of the Bluebell Railway, Ardingly Reservoir, Balcombe Mill and Lake and passing through Wakehurst Place. It is “up and down” throughout, but only three “moderate” ascents and two descents, none particularly long. There are some stiles and the potential for a few muddy stretches after rain. Bring a picnic lunch and snacks suitable for a three-stop policy, although we can make use of the café at Wakehurst (third stop) for tea/ice-cream etc towards the end of the walk without having to pay entrance! The car park is not big so please consider car shares.

Thursday, 5 October 2017 (Group: Reigate)
5 miles / 8.1 km
(Estimated finish time: 13:00)
Start 10.00am. Abinger Roughs National Trust car park. A gem of a walk starting in a familiar spot near the foot of the north downs. It shows off some of the gentler and most delightful features of this part of Surrey. Some stiles en-route without any steep gradient. The high point is a visit to the oldest village in the UK and a half-way stop. We have to cross the A25 twice - so caution advised!
