We climb out through Wigmore to the ruins of Wigmore Castle, once the stronghold of the powerful local Mortimer family. The walk then traverses woods and undulating countryside and skirts alongside the National Trust owned Croft Castle. Taking in views over to the Black Mountains from the excellently named "Lyngham Vallett", we return to Wigmore with the option of a well-deserved drink at the Castle Inn.

Relatively flat figure of eight walk with a section along a river and canal and great views across the Warwickshire countryside. Option to visit the Bulls head Country pub at the start, middle and end! Also option to finish half way through!

Linear walk over moorland on the western fringes of the Dark Peak, along the Longdendale valley, and along a stretch of the Pennine Bridleway to Stalybridge, where we'll sample some local ales at the historic station buffet bar. Return to Glossop by bus.
