Enjoyable walk through the pleasant countryside of Troy Town with plenty of confusing paths in Staffhurst Wood. In the morning, St Silvan’s Church, a whimsical rustic creation of 1935, and in the afternoon, Crowhurst church has possibly the oldest yew tree in the UK (allegedly up to 4000 years old!). Bring a packed lunch but we will be stopping for a lunchtime drink at The Grumpy Mole (formerly the Royal Oak) and there’s a garden centre coffee shop at the end just south of the station.
