Government research and consultation

The Labour Rural Manifesto committed the Government to giving early priority to taking action to improve access to the coast.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) also stated in its five-year work-plan that ‘action to improve access to the coast will be our first priority’.
