Kinder Scout mass trespass

The Kinder Scout mass trespass of 1932 caused a national outcry and was the catalyst for the right to roam campaign.

The Ramblers’ Association will pay homage on the 21 and 22 April, the 75th anniversary of the Kinder Scout mass trespass, to the men who were imprisoned for walking over the mountain.

Decades of hard campaigning by the Ramblers' followed the Kinder trespass resulting in the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (CRoW) which finally enabled the public to walk freely on mountain, moor, heath, down and common land.
