The Ramblers receives no direct funding from the government and relies entirely upon its dedicated members and supporters – that’s you.
It’s thanks to people like you that we have achieved major successes recently, such as the Vixen Tor Campaign. On the 3rd March 2009, Devon Council decided to add two paths onto the definitive map within the Vixen Tor enclosure. Walkers have been prevented from walking there since 2003.
We have also made significant progress with our South Downs Campaign. After 20 years of campaigning, the Ramblers, as part of the South Downs Campaign group, is celebrating the news that the Government has confirmed the South Downs National Park in Sussex and Hampshire
Your donation will also help us provide better levels of support, advice and training for our fantastic network of volunteers - the unsung heroes of the walking movement.
Of course, our work is never done. Every day, we are told of more threats to the walking environment and our footpath network. There are still too many people who have not discovered the joys of walking whether in the countryside or the city.
