Tax Efficient Giving

The Ramblers receives no direct government funding, so we’re enormously grateful to our members and supporters for every donation. There are lots of ways of giving to the Ramblers, and lots of ways of maximizing how much we receive, meaning we can achieve so much more.

While almost 70% of people in the UK make regular donations to charity, only a small number do so tax-efficiently. This means that donors and charities alike are missing out on millions of pounds. At the Ramblers, we believe that it’s important for your money – and ours – to go further.

Here are some of the ways we can do it:

Legacies – leaving a gift in your Will to the Ramblers is a great way of supporting our work, and can help you avoid paying inheritance tax
Gift Aid – if you have signed up to the Gift Aid scheme, we can claim an extra 25 pence for every pound you donate
Payroll Giving – giving through your payroll means that your donation costs you less, and helps us get more
Share Giving – donating shares unlocks capital for a good cause, and counts as personal tax relief
