Each of the seasons has its own particular joys for the walker - and winter brings much to look forward to. It’s the joy of big scarves and open fires, frosty mornings and blazing evanescent sunsets, the crackle of ice on lakes and rivers. It may put the clocks back but it needn’t put the boots back.
Of course the winter days are short, but that doesn’t mean a walker can’t pack them with pleasure, and there are plenty of walks to choose from.
The Ramblers’ Festival of Winter Walks is supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery. Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “We are delighted that players of People’s Postcode Lottery are able to support the Ramblers with their Festival of Winter Walks, which we know will help thousands of people discover the joys of walking.”
Why not record your walks this winter? You can use our walks tracker and challenge your friends - and yourself - by earning up to 32 badges when you log your walks.
The Ramblers’ Festival of Winter Walks is funded thanks to the fantastic players of People's Postcode Lottery.
