Festival of Winter Walks

This year’s festival ran from Saturday 23 December to Sunday 7 January. We invited everyone to join us in enjoying the best of Britain’s wintry landscapes.

The festival may be over, but you can still use much of the information spread across these pages,

You can use our free walks tracker to find and log your own walks. You'll be able to sign up and setup your walking profile and set your own challenges. As you step out you'll be able to record your walks to earn up to 32 unique badges, and watch your progress as you climb the leaderboards.

Whatever your age or ability there’s a walk for you. We’ve got fun winter-themed walks that the little ones will love; leisurely strolls under 5 miles for people new to walking; and longer walks for those that want more of a challenge. For those of you who may be short on time or want a gentler stroll, why not join a health walk

If you don’t want to join a group walk, you can still get involved. Find your own winter walk with Ramblers Routes – our online library of over 2,750 walking routes. There’s everything from invigorating coastal walks to gentle strolls along country lanes, with printable, easy-to-read maps and simple route directions.
