We start with a climb of Leith Hill followed by a walk through the woodlands of Wotton Common including passing a small waterfall. We will later on cross open fields and ascend the North Downs at White Downs, and pass through some bluebell woods before descending into Gomshall. Bring a packed lunch. Pub stop at end.
Travel: Take 9:31 from London Victoria (9:37 Clapham Junction), arr. Holmwood 10:32. Buy return to Holmwood. Single from Gomshall-Dorking may be needed for first part of journey back.

This walk starts by following the River Wey Navigation, followed by footpaths which run along the disused runway of Wisley Airfield. We'll stop for lunch on Ockham Common where there is a visitor centre and cafe facilities (advisable to bring packed lunch in case busy). For the second part of the walk we'll pass through Great Bookham Common before finishing the walk in Leatherhead (pub stop at end of walk).
Terrain: River paths, common land, fields, woodland
Travel: Take 9:40 from London Waterloo (9:49 Clapham Junction), arr. West Byfleet 10:24. Buy return to Guildford as this covers both outward and return journeys which are on different lines. NB there is engineering work in the Guildford area on this date, but it does not affect travel from the start and end stations.

Starting through the Royal Park of Bushy Park, the walk heads roughly north-west before going through Fulwell Park and then sticks to the course of the River Crane before diverting through the large nature reserve of Hounslow Heath. After rejoining the River Crane it carries on towards Hatton Cross and Hayes & Harlington (via the outskirts of Heathrow).

A surprisingly green urban walk that allows us to enjoy two windmills. Early on in the walk we pass by Wimbledon Windmill. Should it be able to accommodate us, we'll have approx. 30 minutes to visit the windmill which is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year (entrance £3). After walking through some of South London's lovely green spaces we'll end at Brixton Windmill (which is 201 years old) which is having a beer and bread festival (free entrance). Enjoy local beers, locally produced food and live music. This is 10 mins walks from Brixton tube and railway stations.

Meet at Paddington station, Exit 3, Grand Union Canal next to Costa. This is the exit near the Hammersmith & City line platforms at the far end of the station from the main concourse.
