Saturday, 22 April 2017
Start time: 9:20
Strenuous 27 miles / 43.5 km
Join us in re-creating the London Marathon the day before the race! As the race organisers put the finishing touches to the course, we'll each don a name and number from one of London's many elite champions (these, and paper clips, will be supplied by the walk leader).
We'll follow the Marathon course (with only minor deviations for practical reasons) as it wends its way through Greenwich, the Rotherhithe peninsula, over Tower Bridge, round the Isle of Dogs and then along the last victorious stretch of the Embankment, Birdcage Walk and The Mall, where we'll break the tape alongside the finish line.
Drop in point available at Tower Bridge (12 miles) at around 2pm – contact the walk leader if you intend to do this.
Travel: Take 8:56 from London Charing Cross (8:59 from Waterloo East; 9:04 from London Bridge), arr. Blackheath 9:16.
