Details : This is a mountainous walk, ascending several peaks and hopefully with stunning views of the Lakes. We will do the route anticlockwise, starting with Low Pike, High Pike, Dove Crag, Hart Cragg, Fairfield, Great Rigg, Heron Pike. The high point is Fairfield 873m.
Please check the mountain weather forecast http://www.mwis.org.uk/english-welsh-forecastand bring appropriate clothing and footwear. It can get cold and windy at high altitude. Please bring a packed lunch. I may have to change the walk on the day if the forecast is bad.
Directions : Drive through Ambleside and go out towards Rydal on the A591. The car park is on the left as you go out of town.
Meeting place : Rydal Rd carpark, Ambleside. Meet near Mountain Warehouse. This is a pay and display car park with toilets. I may not be able to get a phone signal in the car park.
