This is part of the Amber Valley Festival of Autumn Walks.
Note: Earlier start time of 9.30.
Meet at Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Station in Duffield at 9.30; station adjacent to main station but access is via Chapel Street.
Limited car parking in Chapel Street; parking at main station, access via Station Approach, charge applies; or may be able to use car park at EVR station if returning by train after the walk.
Walk the recently lauched Ecclesbourne Way, from Duffield via Windley, Cowers Lane, Idridgehay and Hilltop to Wirksworth.
Return by EVR heritage train from Wirksworth at 16.00 arriving Duffield at 16.34.
Or return by Trent Barton 6.1 bus from Wirksworth at 16.55 arriving Duffield at 17.26; fare £4.40, or £3.74 with Mango card, also goes to Belper and Derby.
You can walk just the first part of the route from Duffield to Idridgehay, 6.5 miles, and then use the above train/bus to return to Duffield.
Alternatively you can walk the latter part from Idridgehay to Wirksworth, 4.1 miles. A train leaves Wirksworth at 12.15, arriving at Idridgehay at 12.31, and wait at the station for the group to arrive. There is parking for rail users at Wirksworth; there is no parking at Idridgehay Station.
