Start time: 16:30
Leisurely 10 miles / 16.1 km
Please note train times have changed from those in the published programme.
The first option adds a 3-mile loop around the towns of Windsor and Eton – including the latter's famous public school - and the River Thames. There'll be time to buy some dinner briefly (and a drink if you wish).
We'll then meet arrivals on the second train (please eat beforehand if you are catching this train). Then we'll head out into the Royal Landscape, across Windsor Great Park to Virginia Water lake and Valley Gardens. It should be quite still by this time, so bonus points for spotting wildlife! There'll be a lot of daylight to enjoy, so we'll return on the 22:50 from Virginia Water (23:25 Clapham Junction), arr. London Waterloo 23:38. We'll be back on lit streets before arriving at the station, but you're welcome to bring a torch if you'd like. Walk not suitable for dogs.
Travel: Take 15:22 from London Waterloo (15:26 Vauxhall, 15:32 Clapham Junction), arr. Windsor & Eton Riverside 16:30. If you'd like to join us later, you can alternatively take 17:22 from London Waterloo (17:26 Vauxhall, 17:32 Clapham Junction), arr. Windsor & Eton Riverside 18:31. Buy return to Windsor & Eton Riverside. A small single (Virginia Water to Staines) will be required on the return leg.
