This is a linear walk
Do not to get a return tickets to Tottenham Hale as the station will be closed every weekend until December. Remember to bring your bus pass you might need it.
We leave at 10.30 am. This is a walk of six miles but we will be including a few stops on the way. First of all we will meet outside Westfield Shopping Centre and then go through the shopping centre to the Olympic park, see the Orbit and the London Stadium before making our way to the Olympic Rings. We will then go into the Velodrome where we can take a break to watch the cyclists on the track and have a cup of tea or coffee before continuing our walk along the River Lea to Markfield Beam Engine Museum which used to be Tottenham Sewage Works. This is an open day and the engines will be in operation at set times. It is free to visit the Museum after which we will make our way along the river again to Tottenham Hale Station for the return train back to Stratford station. You can bring something to eat and drink as there will be plenty of places to have a break or picnic if the weather is OK. You can get a return train ticket to Stratford and at Tottenham Hale get a single ticket back to Stratford. Alternatively, you can get a return ticket all the way to Tottenham Hale whichever you think is best.
