General notes on Blackheath Walks

Starting Times:   Leaders do their best to adhere to the train times published.  However, the National Rail Internet timetable predicts only about 12 weeks ahead (30 September at time of going to press), and there is often engineering work at weekends (particularly through London Bridge) which may cause major changes to departure/arrival times.

So please, even if travelling by car,  check train times with TfL (034 3222 1234; www.tfl.gov.uk) or  National Rail  (03457 48 49 50; www.nationalrail.co.uk).

When a choice of routes is given (marked 'or' in the Meet instructions above), use the less affected, and if in doubt check with the leader.

Lunch:  Lunch on full day walks is usually about 1 hour (or as considered appropriate by the leader on the day) at a public house.

Safety:  Please be aware that you take part in all Ramblers’ walks at your own risk.

Dogs: Some walks are unsuitable for dogs; please check with the leader before bringing one.

'Strenuous' walks:  any Blackheath walk over 12 miles is categorised as Strenuous, as these walks are ‘brisk’ by general standards.  Please contact the walk leader if you have any queries about the walk.
