Please meet in the part of the station known as “Station Place” (near the mainline ticket windows and the Arsenal shop).Alexandra Palace Station (Zone 3) is on the Great Northern Rail line – there are around 4 trains per hour back which terminate at Moorgate (and pass through Finsbury Park and Highbury and Islington Station en route).
On this afternoon walk in green suburbia, we enter Finsbury Park and cross to the far side (the walk leader will allow a loo stop at the café). We then pick up the Parkland Walk (old railway line) to Highgate and head through Queen's and Highgate Woods (we may tarry at its nice café). On exiting the wood we pick up a further section of the old railway line which takes us to the top end of Alexandra Park with its palace and fine views across the London skyline. We will then descend through the park to Alexandra Palace Station with the opportunity of a post-walk drink at the Pub opposite the station.
