A circular walk along the Trent and Mersey canal, through fields and woodland and the scenic village of Great Budworth where some popular period dramas have been filmed. The walk finishes in Marbury country park, where hopefully as dusk closes in we may be able to see a starling murmuration.
Torches will be needed as the walk will finish in the dark. Note the fields in the area are muddy so you may wish to wear gaiters
On the bridge by the entrance to the Anderton boat lift visitor centre CW9 6FW. There is a cafe in the visitor centre which you may wish to visit if you arrive before the start of the walk.
Parking may be difficult as most of the local car parks shut at 5pm and we may possibly be back a bit later than that, firstly therefore if possible please car share. There are some spaces not in the car parks, please aim to arrive a bit early and if you are struggling to park ring the walk leader for advice. Please do not park in front of residents houses.
