This walk takes us across the various open spaces that make up Hampstead Heath and includes Highgate, the stamping ground of our member Colin Pearson who passed away in September 2017.
There will be various interesting locations we will walk past including The Pergola and Hill Garden, The Old Bull and Bush pub, Kenwood House, The “Holy Village”, the pub were Ruth Ellis shot her lover, Keats House, Well Tavern, and St Johns of Hampstead Church where both John Constable and John Harrison are buried. We will also stop at the Parliament Hill Fields viewing point which has some of the best views of London.
Towards the end of the walk there will be the opportunity for a drink at a lively pub in Hampstead Village.
Starting point of the walk: meet at the junction of Templewood Avenue and West Heath Street, NW3 7XD. Parking on West Heath Street is free on a Saturday.
There will be an earlier meet up at Hampstead Tube station at 12.30pm for those who wish to travel by rail. The leader will come to pick up people from the station and take them to the starting point of the walk.
