Biddulph Grange to Bosley Cloud
Sunday, 12 November 2017
Meeting time: 9:00
Start time: 9:45
Moderate 10.5 miles / 16.9 km
The walk starts from Biddulph Grange Country Park (not the National Trust garden, but close to it) where there is a large free car park and toilets.
Starting on the Himalayan Walk, we climb up to a view point on Biddulph Moor and then make our way to Bosley Cloud, with good views if the weather is kind and a visit to a 3000 year old chambered cairn. From the Cloud, we follow a variant of the Gritstone Trail to Congleton Edge, which is the final climb and offers more excellent views, weather permitting. We descend from Nick i’the Hill to return to the cars.
A total of 1500 ft of ascent/descent (according to OS Online).
Torr Top CP, New Mills for optional car share. (meet the leader at Biddulph)
