Commencing through pastures following the course of the Afon Clwyd, we will then make our way toward the village of Rhewl on public footpaths and a short section of quiet lane. After crossing the main road, we pass over the 17th century Rhyd-y-cilgwyn bridge and pick up the Clwydian Way footpath which follows the course of the Afon Clywedog through pretty woodland for just under a mile before making our way back toward Ruthin for a look around the castle and gardens.
