Start time: 11:15
(Estimated finish time: 15:30)
Moderate 8.1 miles / 13 km
A relatively short section of the North Downs Way. From Wye station we retrace our steps back along the North Downs Way towards Boughton Lees (opposite direction to Section 9) for 1.6 miles with a short coffee stop at Biscuits Kitchen at Perry Court Farm. Just before Boughton Lees we set off towards Boughton Aluph then climb up into King's Wood with views of Canterbury Cathedral then the path descends before the attractive village of Chilham. Interesting pilgrims’ churches and may be bluebells in King’s Wood.
Bring picnic lunch. Stop for tearoom or pub at Chilham (either White Horse or Woolpack Inn) before catching the train home.
Start Wye station and return from Chilham station. Buy return to Chilham. Either depart Victoria at 9.22 or St Pancras at 10.08 for more expensive high speed train and change at Ashford International. Both arrive at 11.11 at Wye.
