This is a circular walk
From Abergavenny, we climb to the less-visited summit of Ysgyryd Fach for a new perspective on familiar hills. The route then heads north to Ysgyryd Fawr which we traverse before continuing to follow the Beacons Way for a short distance as we descend. Quiet lanes and footpaths are then followed to Pantygelli. The last climb of the day leads to the fine ridge of Deri which is followed southwards before we lose height through attractive woodlands on our return to the start.
Please note that the pub at Pantygelli is very food-orientated on Sundays and a stop there cannot be guaranteed. Much will depend on the weather and the size of the group as using the pub garden is likely to be the only means of securing a seat.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.
You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
