This is a circular walk with the first couple of miles heading uphill and inland. There are great views back over to Newnham and the river Severn. The route then heads into the Forest of Dean for a while past Soudley Ponds before reaching Lower Soudley and the Dean Heritage Centre where we can stop for a Mince Pies and Mulled wine! The walk then bears back round towards the river along quiet country lanes and through fields until reaching the estuary. The final leg is heading north alongside the river back up to Newnham.
Please bring pack lunch and suitable footwear as it is likely to be muddy. Parking is free but please try and lift share as the car park is quite small.

Meet at the public car park at north end of Newnham. Nearest postcode is GL14 1BH, but this may not take you to the exact spot. If you are coming on the A48 from Gloucester, the car park is on the left about 100 metres after the Newnham sign (as the road bears round to the right).
