An easy scenic walk from Hurst Green which is part of our 'super six' series of easy walks to start off the new year, and encourage people to get out and about and enjoy the Lancashire Countryside
Hurst Green and the Ribble - A delightful walk from Hurst Green passing the grounds of Stoneyhurst College and then following the rivers Hodder and Ribble back to Hurst Green for a well deserved post walk drink.
We will take a very slight detour to view the historic bridge thought to have been used by Cromwell's forces in their march on Preston in 1684. We hope to have our lunch here.
This is a relatively easy 6.5 mile walk.
We will meet outside the Bayley Arms in the centre of Hurst Green for a prompt 11.00am start. Post code BB7 9QB.
On road parking is available. Alternatively, you can park on the village hall car park which is very close to the meeting point. A minimal donation should be made in the collection box at the entrance to the car park.
