Departing from our normal meeting point in Cardiff we travel across the Severn Bridge to Bristol for a moderate walk from Bristol quayside. The walk will start from Brunel's Butter cafe at Railway Wharf, providing those that wish to an opportunity to start the day with a bacon butty and a coffee!
Following the River Avon Trail we pass Brunel's SS Great Britain before entering Rownham Hill Wood for the short climb up towards Clifton Suspension Bridge. After walking across the Suspension Bridge and stopping to admire the viewes we will walk through Clifton back towards Bristol city centre, taking in Brandon Hill gardens and visiting Cabot Tower for stunning views across the city. At 400 feet high the Tower is one of the highest points in the city and can be climbed by those wanting to enjoy the best possible views. Making our way back to the quayside there will be an opportunity for drinks and refreshments before we make our way home.
