A Landscape worthy of painting
In 1782 William Gilpin coined the phrase picturesque about the area around the Wye Valley.
The walk starts from Chepstow Castle & takes in the area of the Piercefield Estate and the viewpoints that were put in around the estate. This was in 1794 and many have to be left to our imagination.
The walk is through woods, and some of it is on narrow paths with a drop to the side.
There will be a number of steps.
THIS WALK WILL NOT GO AHEAD IF IT IS BAD WEATHER: Please check with leader if bad weather is forecast as an alternative will be used
