This is a free and informal training session. In the morning (start at 9:30am) there will be a talk and Powerpoint presentation from a trained and experienced walk leader (Richard from Cotswold Ramblers group). The session will comprise tips and talks on choosing walks, leading walks and map reading and opportunity for you to ask questions. The afternoon session is a practical map reading with a walk around Dowdeswell area, Cheltenham. Please bring an OS Map of Cheltenham and a compass (we have a few to lend).
The morning session will be held in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham. We'll then drive (car share possible) to Dowdeswell (location to be confirmed) to start the afternoon session. Please bring drinks and packed lunch or you can eat at the pub before the start of the walk. We are hoping to finish by about 4pm with an optional drink after.
The day is limited to 15 people. If anyone is interested (including the members who have already shown interest) then please email me at email@example.com so that I can book a place for you and also send you confirmation.
