Moderate 5.8 miles / 9.3 km
A moderately graded but leisurely paced, 5.8 mile walk starting from The Plas Hafod Hotel car park (permission obtained), Gwernymynydd. After a short section of quiet lane we will take to footpaths crossing pastureland before reaching Loggerheads Country Park and Deborah’s Well. We then climb up through Coed Pwll-y-blawd to reach the viewpoint above the tea gardens. Descending via the steps, we arrive at the restored 18th century Pentre Mill before continuing on to follow the course of the leete and taking a coffee break with the chance to explore Devil’s Gorge. We will then wend our way up to Pantymwyn and on to Gwernaffield following more footpaths and bridleways before arriving back at the Plas Hafod for an optional lunch for anyone interested.
Car park at The Plas Hafod Hotel, Gwernymynydd.
