Exploring Newlands Corner and Merrow Downs
Tuesday, 29 May 2018
Start time: 10:00
(Estimated finish time: 12:30)
Moderate 5 miles / 8.8 km
Starting on the North Downs Way, this walk leads through the woodland on the Merrow Downs, with its pine trees and many fine yews. You’ll also visit one of the lesser-known shaded woodland paths; a stunning leafy avenue flanked on either side by regimented plantation of mature trees. It’s hard to believe that such a quiet, tranquil setting is hidden quite so close to the A25
Newlands Corner CP at end furthest from entrance. It is not known if parking charges will be introduced by the time of this walk or not but watch this website for any late breaking details including possible alternative parking and start arrangements.
