If you like your walks picturesque with rugged mountains, or rolling hills and babbling brooks, you’ll probably want to to leave this page now and look for another walk.
If however you wish to help break down the Rambler stereotype and venture into new territory where Gortex, gaiters and Thermos Flasks are seldom seen, then this might be for you.
The walk will start at The Coach House pub at Ely Bridge, go through Ely Park, then under the A4232 around the base of Leckwith Hill, down the Ely trail where we can see the new Papermill development and back into Ely where we will join the locals for a quiet drink..
But don’t despair – we haven’t left our Rambler ethos entirely, there is a very muddy stretch.
The pub is off a side road in an industrial estate just off Ely Bridge (near Wheadon's Coaches Depot). You may want to have a look at the map before you set off as its just off a busy junction. Note: dogs are not allowed inside the pub.
