(Estimated finish time: 15:45)
Leisurely 7.5 miles / 12.1 km
A circular 7.5 mile walk. From West Horndon station we will walk 4miles on a mixture of fields and roads to reach the charity sculpture garden. Note entry is £10 per adult. We will then spend 2.5 hrs exploring the 22 hectares of garden and woodland, containing 70 sculptures as well as fountains, ponds and lakes. There will be a chance to ride the miniature railway, and view the vintage cars in the privately owned museum. There is a cafe, but this is a great spot for a picnic so a packed lunch is a good idea. When we leave the garden, it will only be a couple of miles back to the start, where there will be an optional pub finish.
Dogs are permitted on our walks at the leader's discretion. However they must be well behaved and kept on a lead. Please read the Ramblers dog walking code on the Ramblers website.
Be prepared ! Ensure that you wear walking boots/shoes, trainers can be worn in summer months. Clothing suitable for the weather conditions must be worn. Bring drinking water and food with you, if you're unsure what else to bring please ask.
