Anglezarke, Winter Hill and Rivington
Sunday, 10 June 2018
Start time: 9:30
(Estimated finish time: 16:30)
Moderate 12 miles / 19.3 km
We start with a nice stroll along Anglezarke reservoir before climbing to Great Hill, across moorland, and then a steep climb up to Winter Hill where we walk right past the famous TV station. We then descend across Rivington Moor to Rivington Pike, through Rivington Terraced Gardens and back to the start along Upper Rivington Rerservoir. We have an option to stop for refreshments in a licensed tea room 25 minutes before the end of the walk. Note the start time of the walk is 09.30 as the car park closes at 17.00.
Anglezarke car park. After the road passes between Anglezarke and Rivington reservoirs, it bends left. Don't take the next sharp bend right, but carry straight on past a worn out sign that looks like it says 'No Parking'. Go past a barrier and uphill to the car park.
