Start time: 9:30
Strenuous 10.6 miles / 17 km
OS50. 2 Munros, Stob Ghabhar & Stob a'Choire Odhair from the parking at Victoria Bridge, NN270418. Starting from Victoria Bridge we’ll head west along the Abhainn Shira and then follow the Allt Toaig to the 668m spot height. From there we’ll continue to Stob Ghabhar before re-tracing our steps to the 668m point and heading eastwards onto the summit of Stob a’Choire Odhair before returning (steep in places) back to the approach path. Much of the route is on a reasonable path, however some sections are eroded and boggy and there are a few small rocky sections (nothing technical) heading out to Stob Ghabhar. If we have good weather then we have the option to ascend via Clasgour Farm, then follow the path up along the Allt Ghabhar and onto the Munro Top of Sron a’ Ghearrain and then a high level route taking in Ston Ghabhar and Stob a’Choire Odhair via the Munro bagging paths.

This is a circular walk
Please contact the leader of a walk during the preceding fortnight if you wish to participate in this walk. The leader will then know who is joining the walk and be able to confirm meeting place, bus times, walk route etc. Note that the start time displayed here is only an estimate and it is essential to contact the leader. Edinburgh Ramblers rules require a minimum of 3 people on a walk (including the leader) and leaders will cancel walks if numbers are too low. In addition, weather conditions, changes in bus/train times or sudden illness or crisis affecting the leader can all intervene and cause a walk to be cancelled or altered. Leaders will always notify members if plans change.
Give us a try!
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders.

Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
