The South Cheshire Way from Wrenbury
Sunday, 5 August 2018
Start time: 10:00
(Estimated finish time: 15:30)
Moderate 10.2 miles / 16.4 km
A walk along Cheshire Lanes and Fields, with a long stretch of a beautiful section of the Llangollen Canal, returning along the South Cheshire Way. At the time of the reccie there was a very wet field, and a very muddy towpath in places..should we have a dry summer then that will be resolved. Suggest gaiters and walking boots please, as some uneven terrain... not suitable for trainers. In view of the pastures and the number of stiles this walk is not suitable for dogs, so regret no dogs on this walk please. Post walk drinks in the Cotton Pub opposite where we will park. I have graded the walk moderate due to the uneven terrain and the muddy sections.
A49 south past the gates of Cholmondeley castle, then look out for the turning on the left to Wrenbury, narrow lanes please take extra care. Over the lifting canal bridge before the village, and park on the right in the gravel layby, opposite to Cotton Pub..Please car share where possible
