This circular walk from Upminster takes us via St Mary's Church, Great Warley and its spectacular Art Nouveau interior. A guided tour of the church interior has been organised for us at 12, hence the prompt start.
We will continue via Brentwood to Warley Place nature reserve, the former home and grounds of the famous gardener, Miss Ellen Willmott. A donation box is provided at the entrance for anyone wanting to walk around the gardens - well worth a look. There is a pub near the entrance to the for anyone not wanting to visit the Reserve.
Note that some of the footpaths are overgrown with stinging nettles, so wear suitable clothing.
Dogs are permitted on our walks at the leader's discretion. However they must be well behaved and kept on a lead. Please read the Ramblers dog walking code on the Ramblers website.
Be prepared ! Ensure that you wear walking boots/shoes, trainers can be worn in summer months. Clothing suitable for the weather conditions must be worn. Bring drinking water and food with you, if you're unsure what else to bring please ask.
